Uncapie the Unstoppable here seeking information...INFORMATION!

What did you think of the remake or "re-imagining" which the Hollywood spin doctors love to throw around, of AMC's "The Prisoner" compared to the late, great Patrick McGoohan's vision?

Personally, after what I saw at San Diego Comic Con and last night's two episodes; its utter trash. There's no scope to the characters. You don't care about them or their plight. "Rover" becomes a killer(He only killed once in the original series' "Schizoid Man" episode. By accident or something more sinister?). The story itself is hogwash. The twins are boring. Ian McKellan makes a good "Number 2," but he's trapped within a weak script.

In total; this series is terrible and should have never been made. It can't hold a candle to the original, timeless masterpiece Patrick McGoohan created.

Your thoughts?

Be seeing you.

Are you kidding? The new Prisoner series cured my insomnia. I recommend it for that reason only. What a disappointment!

well i think it's important new one or original to be reknown again as its premise is very important to what our government is becoming under obama

Hmm. I found it entertaining enough to watch. However, I found it to be lacking somehow. It's like they tried to throw too much together in a limited amount of time. I agree about the last two episodes, they were a bit of a mess, not to mention confusing. I guess it was entertaining enough to keep me occupied for a few nights, but I doubt I'd ever want to watch it again. As I was watching "The Prisoner" I couldn't help but compare it to the new "V" re-imagining, and I think the latter is being done with much better quality.

Oops, I saw you were actually referring to the first two episode and I was referring to the last two. I thought the first two were OK, but far from great, but stand by my statement that the last two were a complete mess.

Overall, it was garbage. What Patrick McGoohan created, no one could or even for that matter should even copy. What stupidity on AMC's part. They might have well flushed their money down the toilet. Pat did it right in seventeen episodes then what they accomplished in their paltry six. You can't improve on perfection. Pat's original concept for a feature film "Prisoner" was shopped around for some time in the 90's with Mel Gibson helming it. If you watch the "Truman Show," that's what the "Prisoner" movie was to be. Someone got a hold of his script, rewrote it and made it into the Jim Carey/Ed Harris vehicle. Still, Pat's probably laughing where he is looking down at the debacle AMC created. Can't say I don't blame him at all.
